Template Overview​

The Kinogoshik template features a classic design with a dark theme in shades of gray and an expanded brief news card displaying key information. As the name suggests, this design is inspired by the popular and long-standing "Movies and TV Shows" website theme. A standout feature of this template is its built-in color switcher, allowing you to toggle between dark and light themes. Aside from this, the design remains quite conventional and traditional.

Updated :

• Adapted to version 17 and above; added .tpl for quick search results.
• Added instructions on how to enable the light theme by default. The script has been moved to main.tpl, and now unnecessary files and folders have been removed from the archive.
• Fixed an issue with CLS that was showing as 0 in tests, but Google Webmaster Tools indicated it was not 0.

Google PageSpeed Tests:

• Homepage: 76-86 on mobile, 86-96 on desktops. CLS: 0-0.03.
• Player Page: 80-86 on mobile, 84-96 on desktops. CLS: 0-0.03.

MAIN PAGE​

• Color Switching: The template allows for quick toggling between dark and light themes via a button in the header. The switch occurs "on the fly" without page reload and is remembered in the user's browser. By default, the template is dark.
• Logo: The template features a text-based logo that can be changed by editing the text in main.tpl. CSS variables for colors and sizes are used in the template, allowing you to change colors with just a few clicks, even without much technical knowledge!
• Carousel: Showcases popular new releases by default for the past week. Popular items in specific categories are displayed according to their respective categories. On the poster, the user rating out of 10 is color-coded based on the score, with default colors being gray, red, orange, and green.
• Top 100 Page: A separate page lists the top 100 movies and TV shows, displayed in rows of posters.
• Ratings: The template uses a "likes/dislikes" rating system. The stars represent a percentage rating, not a numeric score. Additionally, a beautiful circular chart and overall rating are displayed using an included plugin.
• Ajax Loading: New materials can be loaded via Ajax button and traditional pagination.

PLAYER PAGE​

• Header Structure: Features an interesting layout with movie information. The poster includes a "Watch Online" button that, when clicked, scrolls the page to the player section.
• Comments: If no avatar is available, an avatar is generated with the first letter of the name and a random color from a predefined set.
